Need-Based Services

Finding It Hard to Make Ends Meet?

For those who find themselves struggling financially and in need of some support, our office may be able to help. Following specific criteria, we are able to offer Southborough residents assistance through the following programs:

• Winter Wishes
  Winter Wishes is a program that assists Southborough families with making the holidays memorable by connecting community donations with families' needs and special gifts. Applications are now available until October 25, 2023.
• Camp Scholarships
  Through the combined efforts of Friends of the Southborough Youth Commission, SYFS, the local community, and affiliated camp programs, income-eligible Southborough school-age youth are given the opportunity to attend camps during the summer.
• Fuel Assistance
  Our office can facilitate the application process for SMOC of Framingham's fuel assistance program and can provide additional information on other energy assistance programs. Our department is an intake site for Southborough residents under the age of 60 years old. Residents 60 years and older can contact the Southborough Senior Center for help with fuel assistance. Fuel Assistance is available from November 1st through April 30th annually.
• Emergency Fund
  Financial assistance to residents experiencing financial hardship for situations such as car repair, loss of electricity or heat, medical expenses etc.
• Referrals
  We offer referral and navigation support to residents in need of a specific type of service with an outside agency such as housing, unemployment, or other public assistance programs.
